It is almost the end of June and we are still having a weather that makes us call it summer. It has been pouring in Kerala and a few showers heard of in Delhi, have the rain Gods forgotten us Mumbaiites? :) My daughter has been asking for something cold everyday after she is back from play or school and so thought of cold coffee being a good idea(she loves her Choco Frappe at Cafe Coffee Day(CCD). So here is how to make cold coffee.
Ingredients for Cold Coffee / Iced Coffee Recipe
Instant Coffee Powder - 2 heaped tsp
Sugar - 2 tsp
Chocolate syrup - 2 tbsps (I used the Fun foods chocolate syrup, like it for its dark chocolate taste and flavour)
Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp (optional - I didn't use)
Cold Milk - 2 cups
Ice cubes - 10 to 12
Method for Cold Coffee / Iced Coffee Recipe
Add the cold milk, coffee powder, sugar, chocolate syrup, vanilla essence into the blender and run it for 1-2 minutes. Pour it out into two glasses (you will have little more than 2 big glasses with the above quantity). Pour it from a little height so that you have a nice froth on the top. Add 5-6 ice cubes into each glass and enjoy. It is sheer bliss into sip a big glass of iced coffee on a hot summer day (yes, it is summer still:)
Note:
1- If you want it creamier and richer you can add a big scoop of ice cream in the blender or simply top it with your favourite ice cream after pouring the cold coffee into the glass.
2- You may also top it with sweetened cream.
3- Sprinkle a little coffee powder / cocoa powder for added flavour.
