Aval Nanachethu

Day#3 Blogging Marathon
Aval nanachethu is a dish that brings back so many beautiful memories of my childhood. Amma used to make this for breakfast (with generous portions leftover for tea time). Beaten rice mixed with freshly grated coconut and sugar/jaggery (love both the versions). However, with hubby dear not being very fond of this traditional Kerala delight it became a dish that I would indulge in only when I went home on leave. With the kid's delight event on I thought of making this at home and re-introducing it to hubby and also my daughter. This is one simple dish to make with the ingredients easily available in any Indian pantry.
Ingredients for Aval Nanachethu:
Aval/beaten rice/rice flakes - 1 cup
Water - 2 to 3 tbsp(you may decide to add milk instead)
sugar - 2 tbsp(you can add grated jaggery instead)
Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
Method for making Aval Nanachethu:
1- Take a mixing bowl and add in all the ingredients. Mix well to blend all the ingredients together. Keep aside for 15 minutes so that the moisture from the grated coconut and the added water
